Father's Day

I've never celebrated Father's day before and as i saw all the hooplah arouuond me, i decided to update my blog and write a dedication to my Dad - the sweetest person i have ever known.
Its almost six years now and I remember you everyday but everytime mom mentions you i shush her :-)
See you in most situations and imagine your advice. Not that every advice you gave us was correct but you always tried to see things from a nuetral point of view and thats something very rare.
I never really had a chance to tell you how much I admired your honesty and sincerity..esp in your profession.
Whatever I am today is because of your guidance and encouragement.

Miss you DAD and love you always :-)

PS..No comments please

Adios 2008

Now that 2008 is behind us and all we have is reflections from the annus horribilis .
Let me put this up here so that i can recall this in better times.

2008 was
  1. A year where every purchase was made with a calculation at the back of my mind...easily the toughest financial year in my memory.
  2. When bro and me made professional judgements which turned out to be life changing.
  3. A year of so many conflicts with/between near & dear
  4. Was more sober that 2006 but drunken than 2007
  5. A year where a prudent sale of real estate would have set me up for life but..... I look upon that a lesson in life now :-)
  6. Lehman Bros went for toss to put everything around us in a spin
  7. Obama proving 'Yes! We can'
  8. Mumbai attacks bought India together like nothing ever could
  9. When bro finally went in for the PG madness...Bon Voyage Bro!!
  10. Having your personal life hang by a thread ...this does nothing for your professional life BTW ;-)
  11. Cricketers and Abhinav Bindra doing India proud
  12. Saying all the wrong things at the wrong time.
Hoping for a Better 2009 and as Obama said 'Yes, We can!!'

I just blogged to say...

Saw Sayesha Blog on this and decided to tag myself

Here are the rules:

RULE #1: People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

RULE #2: Tag 6 people to do this quiz and they cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by, cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by, and must continue this game by sending it to other people.

Chuck the rules..follow at your own peril  ...Anyways, Here i go:

Read this blog (http://www.blinman.com/before30.htm) and got thinking.(my score is 10 on this list)

There were things i wanted to to do before i was thirty when i was a kid and now that the target is close, i have a different list. Now the first list may seem basic to a lot of people but this is what i wanted when i was 14 ,in a small town school with a middle class upbringing.

1. Get a JOb - Check..those were the days when unemployment(among cousins) was rife
2. Complete my education (Masters/Phd) - Check
3. Drive a car - Check
4. Become tall - partial check

6. Propose to someone - Check
7. Make it work - PHEW..now i am totally making this up..always thought it would work as in fair tales and movies
7. Impress your boss with your talent - Nope and no chance
8. Write a dairy - partial check...blogging and twittering count dont they ??
9. Sing in front of a crowd - Nope and no Chance
10. Impress Parents - DONE atleast partially in my opinion....seriously.

Now here's my current list and Status

1. Travel to all continents in the world - Africa, South America, Antarctica and Australia to go
2. Own a convertable
3. Play the guitar
4. Spend more than my monthly income on a single gadget

9. Own a killer looking apartment

5 wierd things about me

Reading a random blog and came across this. So i decided to celebrate the government unblocking my blog (or so i claim) by writing this.

1. I touch my nose atleast a hundred times a day. So i guess people think i have a permanent cold and other things not that complimentary.
2. I hate drinking coffee & tea, not that i dislike the taste but just the fact that they burn my toungue. AHEM !!!
3. I think fighting with my boss and bragging about it is cool.
4. I love to think i broke realtionships on my own accord when its very much the opposite (am i saying too much....Does not matter, please refer to my next wierd statement.
5. I actually think People read my Blogs :D and consider myself a BLOGGER

Too senti for me but dats the mood now.

Whats the best place for a first date?

Someone i know had a first date in a very unlikely place. The Labor Room of a Hospital !!!
And to my knowledge both of them are not doctors.

And being in the Vela Despo mood that i am in rite now, i started thinking about the best place to have a first date.

So here goes my pattha-paisa on the topic.

1. A Park - Public and Private at the same time but too conventional.
2. Coffee Shop - another unimaginative place which might not be too private
3. Cinema - Again unimaginative but gives you more privacy esp if you are not a movie buff
4. Exhibition/Fare - Another favored Indian haunt but a bit too loud for my liking
5. Techno Conference - My fav as you can talk all you like while enjoying free food & goodies
6. Beach/Hill top/ Local Geographic Wonder - Again Like the park but atleast good for the scenic value

So here's my tribute for a couple who had a great time in the Labor room.
D&P May both of you have a wonderful life together.
